Being an on-going accumulation of all manner of bits-of-cloth-onna-stick, reproduced from several hundred back issues of White Dwarf, product boxes, and anywhere else the Copy-Slaves have found them. (Not original designs of the Widow or her slaves, pets or ambulatory furniture, reproduced out of love and as an insidious plan to facilitate their return to the battlefield, not for profit.) This is a living project, if only because there are hundreds still to scan. Order may occur as the collection grows, or the mood takes us, or if anyone has requests. Credit can be added where it can be found, and maybe even reader submissions. At the moment they are grouped by race/faction. Make Flags Great Again. *May also include pennants.
The header image is a 6mm (epic scale) reproduction of an original John Blanche artwork created by the inarguably talented Mikal Van Leuven. Follow him on Twitter and Installation at @dehoofdwerker and hephaistosstudios and you can find glorious hi-res colour images of The Eternity Gate at Dehoofdwerker or visit his Etsy shop and purchase some of his madness. The man is clearly touched by the spirit of the machine God and is a worthy. Speaking of the beloved of the Machine God, the remastering of the original model image was committed by the no less talented @ArtistsEmpire, as featured in White Dwarf 465, and available for commission on Twitter. Go forth and follow, the Widow commands it.
Whilst this is an archive of Fantasy/Sci-Fi banners, it feels remiss of us not to draw attention to the various talented banner-makers in the historical market, who sell some truly beautiful items. To that end, we’ll include links to various ones as I come across them.

There are very few guidelines for Ork banner placement (becoz its da boyz innit). There is even evidence of shared Gargant construction, so mixing clans is perfectly acceptable. They are broadly interchangeable with WH40k banners.

Bretonnian
Bretonnian banners are few and far between. However, of all the factions, they are by far the easiest to supplement with real-world imagery. There are many fabulous historical medieval flags, and the nature of heraldry means even these few can be re-used several times, often with only minor adaptation such as quartering or extra symbology.

Nice collection! If you like, I could send you scans of Alcatani Fellowship, Leopold’s Leopard Company, Marksmen of Miragliano and Pirazzo’s Lost Legion flags. The ones I’m missing are Braganza’s Besiegers, Long Drong Slayer’s Pirates and Al Muktar’s Desert Dogs.

Wow! What a collection. Could not find the space wolf character banners anywhere online until this wonderful archive popped up! I’m long enough in the tooth to have had the original ones from the white dwarf they came in and wanted to redo them. So, thanks for doing this!

If they come out OK feel free to email me pics of the results and I’ll happily put them up in the archive, fully credited etc. There’s a contact email somewhere around the place.

Will do. I’m just working on them in photoshop a little to make a few changes and up the resolution a little.

Ok so the slightly fiddly thing is, the older characters have banner poles that have no cross-beam so I need to convert them or locate ones like in your rhino section that let the banners hang sideways. OR just bite the bullet and convert the backpacks which I really don’t want to do because they are original 90s models! (Breaking off the vertical pole and replacing them with ones with cross-bars. OR a fiddly-er way is to create a crossbar to attach to the metal poles.

One way is to find fine wire (as you might strip out of a cable) and crosstie a beam onto the upright. The wire is usually hidden from the front anyway, but done neatly it will blend quite well and look intentional.

Ah! Smort. I’ll try that. I’m making a custom Russ banner today based on an old RT drawing then I’ll print an A4 with them all. But I’ll keep that in mind thanks before I start converting them all to side banners!
